Biography[]
Leo Valdez was born July 7th to Hephaestus and Esperanza Valdez. His mom was a mechanic who owned her own shop. She was often busy so she hired Leo a babysitter named Tia Callida, who was actually Hera. Tia tried to kill Leo many times, but Leo showed signs of being a fire user at an early age. The earth goddess Gaea was the cause of his mom's death. Leo tries to prove that he is worthy of himself. During a field trip, he, Piper McLean, and Jason Grace got attacked by a storm spirit and taken to camp by Annabeth Chase.
Early Life[]
At the age of eight, Leo was visited by Gaea, the Earth goddess, who intended to break his spirit, after being notified by Medea that he would have a part to play in her downfall. Horrified, Leo tried to use his fire ability as a defense to save his mother and himself, but lost control and started a fire, burning the mechanic shop. His mom died in the fire, and his Aunt Rosa turned his remaining family against him, thus forcing him to be sent to several foster homes.

Leo has curly black hair and dark brown eyes, His face, as described by Jason Grace, is "babyish", and he always has a mischievous look in his eyes. Leo is Hispanic.
